Data Assessment
A structured review of your spatial data — accuracy, completeness, topology, schema and lineage — with a defect register you can act on.
About The Geo Lab
The Geo Lab advises government agencies, municipalities, PMOs, utilities and planning teams on GIS, smart cities and master planning — and turns that same delivery experience into training and professional resources teams can use immediately.
What we do
We work at the point where spatial data has to support a real decision — a planning approval, an asset investment, a network upgrade. That is where data quality stops being a technical concern and becomes a commercial one.
A structured review of your spatial data — accuracy, completeness, topology, schema and lineage — with a defect register you can act on.
Repeatable quality control built into delivery, not bolted on at the end. Checklists, acceptance tests and sign-off records that stand up to audit.
Reconciling design and asset data into one spatial reference layer across design, delivery and operations.
Independent platform evaluation and licence optimisation — governance and total cost, not vendor preference.
Connecting teams, consultants and contractors so spatial data moves cleanly between them.
Corporate workshops and one-to-one programmes that leave capability inside your team.
Who we work with
Programme experience
Capability built on delivery at programme scale, not consultancy theory.
Leadership
Omar Abdelghany is the founder and principal consultant of The Geo Lab. He has spent more than 13 years leading digital transformation and geospatial delivery across major capital programmes, and currently leads the GIS division on the Green Riyadh Programme.
His work sits at the intersection of GIS, BIM integration and smart-city delivery — turning complex project data into intelligent, actionable systems, and bridging the gap between data and decision-making.
Every resource The Geo Lab publishes is drawn from that delivery experience. The workflows in our courses and templates are the ones used to deliver at programme scale.
