Omar Abdelghany is the Founder and Managing Director of The Geo Lab, bringing more than 15 years of experience across geospatial strategy, GIS, urban planning, digital transformation, infrastructure and major capital programmes.
His expertise sits at the intersection of GIS, master planning, spatial data management, BIM–GIS integration, automation, digital twins and smart-city delivery. Throughout his career he has worked in complex multidisciplinary environments where geospatial technology plays a central role in connecting planning, infrastructure, assets and project information.
Omar specialises in transforming complex spatial and project data into structured, reliable and actionable intelligence — helping organisations improve data governance, streamline workflows, automate repetitive processes, strengthen QA/QC and support better planning and management decisions.
Through The Geo Lab he brings this practical delivery experience into geospatial consulting, digital solutions, GIS automation, GeoAI and professional capability development. The company’s methodologies, tools and learning resources are built around real-world project requirements and industry workflows, bridging the gap between geospatial technology and business decision-making.
